A very rare English Lower Palaeolithic Achuelean Flint Handaxe! 450,000 to 250,000 years old. Found in a field in Ashmore, Dorset on the 23.06.2012.

The shape is quite rare, it has been made for a purpose and has a resharpened area "potentially for piercing".

A very nice chalky porcelain like white patina with darker fossil sponge inclusions.

English Palaeolithic Handaxes rarely come up for sale, especially with a provenance like this.

A really beautiful piece of ancient history.
